Canada’s Team in the U-13 Girls category coached by Rob Noel won the Gold Medal in the “1st Youth Futsal World Cup 2018” with a 2 – 0 victory over Spain on Sunday, October 14, at Family Focus Court – Sasktel Soccer Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Canada’s Team in the U-13 Girls category coached by Rob Noel won the Gold Medal in the “1st Youth Futsal World Cup 2018” with a 2 – 0 victory over Spain on Sunday, October 14, at Family Focus Court – Sasktel Soccer Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Harlee Noel and Fresly Fredlund made the winning goals in favour of the splendid Canadian Team. The U-13 Girls Spain Team coached by Lewis Oteruelo never gave up during the game and took home the Silver Medal.
New Zealand Team took the Bronze Medal 15 -1 against Brazil Team in the U-13 Girls division. The New Zealand players who made the goals were Jade Unterschte 6, Kandence Madraga 4, Heidi Li 2, Alexa Christie 2, and angelica Friske 1 and by Brazil the goalkeeper Bailey Ainsworth.
The New Zealand coaches were Sergio and Amber Fuentealba and the Brazil Team was Peter Morris.
The boys Japan Team won the final 3 – 0 against France thus obtained the Gold Medal in the U-15 Boys division with winning goals made by Kristian Kolosnjaji, Simon Funk, and Gitonga Haumphanh. The U-15 Boys Japan Team was lead by Coach Van Houmphanh and France Team was Shaun Eaton.
Jaime Meza, the president of SFL and Coach of SK Olimpia FC, mentioned: “the coaches, players, Clubs or Teams, Saskatoon Futsal League, and Saskatchewan Soccer Association keep promoting Futsal in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. We should see very impressive growth in the city of Saskatoon during the upcoming years. More people inside the country will talk more about the improvement of Futsal in the Country and will love to join and play this sport. It is a gratification to see how our sport is growing and the Canadian Futsal National Head Coach Kyt Selaidopoulos is promoting our beautiful sport in Canada with Futsal Clinic for players and Coaches, and the Futsal Camps”.
All in all a great success and we thank the ten Teams for their participation (Spain A, Spain B, Spain C, New Zealand, France, Japan, Brazil, Netherland, Canada, and England), referees, and coaches.

AURORA FLYERS SC vs JUNIOR HUSKIES (U-15 Girls).
The fifth final game featured Aurora Flyers SC at the facing off against Junior Huskies U of S. They were disciplined on the team. Junior Huskies of The University of Saskatchewan playing for the first time together. The girls of Aurora Flyers worked extremely hard in our Futsal League. The scored was 4-3 winning Aurora Flyers SC.
Landis Corbell who plays with Aurora Flyers SC scored 27 goals thus becoming the Top Scorer of the U-15 Youth Futsal League Winter 2018. Trent Maclean, Head Coach of Aurora Flyers say: “They are excited to get better and return to next Futsal League”
SAETA FC vs ATHETIC FC U-15 Boys).
The sixth final game featured Saeta FC at the facing off against Athletic FC. The scored was 5-0 winning Saeta FC. Kristian Kolesnjaji who plays with Athletic FC scored 20 goals thus becoming the Top Scorer of the U-15 Youth Futsal League Winter 2018. Jerson Barandica, Head Coach of Saeta FC said: “It was fun to watch the kids have the opportunity to put into play everything that they have been learning in terms of their futsal decision making and their ability to play combinations in tight spaces”. Jeff Fua, Head Coach of Athletic FC said: “Thank you coaches, thank you players, and thank you Saskatoon Futsal League for your wonderful league for children”
Finally, It is evident that “the beautiful game of Futsal’ will help these players enjoy and become better players of ‘the beautiful game of soccer’
FUSION 05 FC vs AURORA RANGERS SC (U-13 Girls).
The third games was Aurora Rangers SC against Fusion o5. The scored was 3-2 for Fusion SC and the Top Scorer was Presley Fredlund who plays with Fusion FC and 7 goals thus becoming the Top Scorer the U-13 Youth Futsal League Winter 2018.
Head Coach Shawn Tallmadge had the following to say: “I love Futsal, it is an exciting game for the children. We hope as a Club to participate with more Teams in the next Futsal Youth League in Winter 2018 and winter 2019”.
SAETA FC vs TD SOCCER ACADEMY (U-13 boys). The fourth final game featured Saeta FC against TD Soccer academy. The scored was 5-4 winning Saeta FC. Jarred Esterhuizen who plays with Saeta FC scored 36 goals thus becoming the Top Scorer of the U-13 Youth Futsal League Winter 2018. Jaime Meza, Head Coach of Saeta FC said: “Futsal is the beautiful game and children are the stars of the game. They enjoy the beautiful game of Futsal and we give them the space to make them happy. Futsal is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pin point passing. Congratulation Boys, you are champions”. Kyle Mariner Head Coach of TD Soccer Academy FC said: “I and we Love Futsal. I enjoyed this game and I am happy with our Team”
TD SOCCER ACADEMY VS LAKEWOOD 1 SC (U-11 Girls)
The first Futsal final match featured TD Soccer Academy at the facing off against Lakewood 1 SC. The players enjoyed the game and placing the heart in the game.The spectators filled the bleachers and encouraged their teams. The scored ended 5-3 for TD Soccer Academy.
Emma Hill who plays with Lakewood 1 SC scored 28 goals thus becoming the Top Scorer of the U-11 Youth Futsal Premier League winter 2018.
SAETA FC vs TD SOCCER ACADEMY (U-11 Boys).
Peter Morris who Coached TD Soccer Academy said: “We like Futsal and our Girls Futsal Team won the League. This was wonderful for us and we will want to participate in the next Futsal session”. Thiago Prado who coached SAETA FC U-11 said: “I am very proud of the way the boys played, they were very good with their movement off the ball and their technical execution of their passes and Jaime Meza who coached SAETA FC said: ” We won the League as Coaches and the players won the game. You are the best players”.
Bronze Medal Match
QC-Sporting Québec FC 2:5 SK-Saskatoon Olimpia SK FC
Saskatchewan earn the bronze medal with a 5:2 victory over Québec. Nikolas Baikas scored three and Michael Veszi had two for Saskatoon Olimpia SK FC. Frédéric Beaulieu and Morio Gerges scored for Sporting Québec FC.
